VOLUNTEER with LCF

Freshwater mussel survey at LCF Sangamon River Corridor Reserve

Volunteers get their feet wet in the Sangamon River

LCF volunteers enjoy time outdoors and learn from knowledgeable leaders while supporting our important mission. They improve trails, plant native trees, remove invasive plants, and count mussels, among other tasks.

Volunteers also help behind the scenes with special events, social media, graphic design, and our website.

Many LCF volunteers are East Central Illinois Master Naturalists. LCF has also worked with the Monticello High School FFA and other local high school and college organizations.
