About the event

Come celebrate completion of the new Sangamon River Bluff Trail, connecting the Bruce Hannon Levee Trail with Allerton Park — a collaboration between LCF, the City of Monticello, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and Allerton Park and Retreat Center. Join us at the Sangamon River Corridor Reserve parking lot for the ribbon cutting. Then stay and hike whatever you're comfortable with. The Levee Trail is about 2 miles and the Bluff Trail is about 4.5 miles, ending at Allerton Park's Buck Schroth parking lot. This hike offers uncommonly scenic river views and is moderately challenging, with a rustic feel. Please bring your own water and snacks. To attend, RSVP to Eric Mollahan. Photo by Melissa Records.
