Helpful Hints

  • Doug recommends bringing binoculars or a telephoto camera lens if you have either, in order to get a good look at a dragonfly perched at a distance.

  • Wear appropriate clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting muddy. Also, bring sunscreen and insect repellent – mosquitoes are abundant!

  • There are no restroom facilities at the MOJ. The hike may last 90 minutes or longer for those interested, but you can leave when you wish.
